Thank you for your interest in the Swiss-California Foundation. This unique program has allowed me to dive into a dynamic environment, and to meet fascinating people. I look forward to spending more exciting moments with you in the weeks ahead! "Zurich meets San Francisco"
One of the events which I helped organize during "Zurich meets San Francisco" was the Urban Tech Summit. We invited key decision makers, including high-level academics, executives, entrepreneurs, government officials and nonprofit leaders, to work on solving the urban transportation issues of today. Over the course of an afternoon, they prepared short pitches in different breakout sessions and later presented them to an expert jury as part of a public award ceremony. Watch this short video below to get an impression of the event I helped put together: Life on the FarmAfter some initial struggles to find housing, I have moved into a wonderful home for my time in California. Together with two interns at the EDB, who are from Spain and England, we have rented the guest house on an Apple Farm in Sebastopol, CA. Our landlady Victoria takes great care of us, and we sometimes help her around the garden. We spent Thanksgiving together with friends of her, and we felt grateful to be experiencing this American tradition. OutlookFor those of you living in Sonoma County, there is an interesting discussion happening in Santa Rosa on Thursday, December 6. The U.S. Correspondent for Tages-Anzeiger, Switzerland’s largest daily newspaper, will elaborate on some particularities of the Swiss political system. Hosted by the World Affairs Council, this event with Walter Niederberger starts at 7.30pm, and the cover charge is $5. Read this article in the Press Democrat for some background. I would love to see some of you there!
