The Swiss-California Foundation gives young graduates a platform to develop their potential. We offer a unique educational Fellowship Program awarded exclusively to graduates of the University of St. Gallen (HSG), one of Europe’s top business schools. We strive to prepare young professionals for their role as future leaders in a globalized world. Therefore, we promote what we believe to be today’s factors of success: entrepreneurialism, cross-cultural understanding and responsible leadership. |

The Foundation
The Swiss-California Foundation is a private, non-profit organization working to realize and foster a Fellowship Program in San Francisco, California. We offer a 10-month Fellowship Program to talented graduates of the University of St. Gallen to develop

We strive to improve the understanding of Swiss-American relations by enabling young, future Swiss leaders to gain a profound and holistic understanding of the American worldview. We aim to bridge knowledge and experience gaps between Switzerland and California.
Our goal is to exchange professional skills and leadership between Switzerland and California. The Fellow will be working in an international environment in the city of San Francisco and experience the Californian business culture first hand.
We aim to create an understanding in Switzerland of California's politics and business culture and vice-versa through the personal experience of a Swiss Fellow.

The Swiss-California Foundation is located in the city of San Francisco, California. There is a strong presence of Swiss companies and organizations, which allows us to interact with a diverse environment. The Fellow operates at the interface of various organizations, most of which have a direct connection to Switzerland. Our partners in San Francisco include the Consulate General, the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Zurich Area, a U.S. entity, and other organizations. |

The partnership with University of St. Gallen has been in place since 2003. The university provides us with a pool of highly qualified and motivated graduates. During the 10-month term, the Fellow also presides over the HSG Alumni San Francisco Chapter - a task which greatly enriches our Program.

The Economic Development Board of Sonoma County has kindly hosted the Fellow's workplace for the first 18 years of the Program. The work at this local government organization gives the Fellow the exceptional opportunity to learn about and be involved with the community they live in.

The Consulate General of Switzerland in San Francisco is a great supporter of our Fellowship Program. Our partnership allows the Fellow to experience Swiss foreign policy at work first-hand.

The Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce is our link to the Bay Area business community. Through the project based collaboration, the Fellow has access to a broad network of valuable contacts and insight into Swiss-American business relations.

We are proud to partner with the Greater Zurich Area (GZA), the international contact partner for promotion and marketing of an economic region spanning nine Swiss Cantons around Zurich.

swissnex SF is an important partner for the Swiss-California Foundation. Through swissnex SF, the Fellow can get to know how the exchange in education, research, innovation and the arts work between Switzerland and the West Coast of the United States.
