I would like to give you an overview of my involvement in the project to provide you with a hands-on example of how my time at the Swiss-California Foundation has contributed to my professional and personal development.
A Quick Overview
During the months leading up to March 11, I was busy co-organizing the Module in Silicon Valley with a representative of the University of St. Gallen. Together, we determined the contents of each session, contacted speakers, discussed the content together with them, set up panel discussions, organized food, accommodation and transportation, etc.
Luckily, much of this work took place at Stanford University, which allowed me to explore the campus and connect with many of the interesting professors and students.
Besides learning how much work and effort flows into such a project and hence improving my organization skills, I was able to connect with many interesting people from diverse industries and learn about their innovation ideas.
By developing the content of the program and taking part in each session, I was further able to broaden my horizon on Business Model Innovation and the challenges that Silicon Valley firms are facing.
Lastly, I am very excited to have established a network with both the University of St. Gallen and Stanford University. This allows me to actively contribute to the exchange between Switzerland and the U.S., as is the goal of the Swiss-California Foundation.
